About This Software Unbound encourages playful creation using virtual reality gear with tracked controllers, while enabling two creators to collaborate in real time in the same space, on the same 3D objects. Note that i have Medium and Masterpiece VR and love them.Let me start with Unbound is like Medium and Masterpiece but much much much more. and lessI start with the negatives.-Right now it has way less funktions than the other programms. But it has a unique spin real time sculpt funktion that the others don\u00b4t have. (Not saying that you can\u00b4t make impressive sculpts).-Making sharp (rounds are okay) details is very hard at the moment. Maybe this is esp. apparent because you cant world scale.-generally missing many features the other sculpting apps haveNow on to the positives(there are to many)- It looks right from the start simply awesome. The best so far. -Painting is just a joy.-Everything is so fluid. Not saying that the others aren\u00b4t but Unbound feels the best.-The massive scale. I tried to push it to the limits. Its hard to compare to the others but if i stretch my medium and masterpiece sculpts i have them 3-4 m real life size. In Unbound i could easilie go to 60 m and even further if i could teleport withoud reaching a barrier. and on top of that everything still runns smooth.- And goiing further i can than just start a new sculpt in the same place were my old one is without any problems. and after that another one.... INCREDIBLE and that without quality loss!- The spin feature. Basically the only real feature wight now besides the basic stuff but man. This in combination with the rotate shape feature allows for some really cool high quality real time effects not seen before. Very trippy. But you can also use them to easiliy model certain shapes that would be problematic otherwise. It also gets kudos for its skybox. Again impressive.-Probably forgot some minor points but read on--The by far biggest reason to get Unbound is what the devs are aiming to do with it. And that is by far more than just beeing a moddeling app. This is the groundwork for a VR Version of the Little Big Planet Series for Playstation\u00b4s builder mode. It blows my mind how much potential Unbound has. I painted quickly a car around myself yesterday evening. After decorating it a bit i thought: With just 3 or 4 tools from Little Big Planet i could make that car just painted drivable. with interactive steering wheel that works, foreward backward. different gears and lights...If the devs can pull off something in this direction this is the most promising out of all VR apps right now on early access.They have an estimated EA time period of 2 years and thats a lot of time to forge something amazing. They are also very responsive. Interresting side thing. It is only 4mb big. But that surely does not reflect the quality of the product. But who cares if it is that powerful.If that all sounds interresting to you just get it and support the projekt. But at least keep it on your list and see how it devellops.. Def the most liquidy sculpting tool yet - pretty amazing as its new def not alot of featuresfor me some issues I cannot figure out how to reload the saved scene ??? what boggles me with alot of vr apps is a simple panel with instructions would save so much irritation and aggrivation - why do you want your users to struggle - put up instructions in all areas that you can toggle off please - I use so many warez all day long and to think I'm gonna remember what yours does all the time is silly - so that means everytime i open it i gotta figure out how yours is different from theres and thats just a waste of my time when a simple instruction panel relays all the pertinent info in a sec.the fact you have to select each model before you can effect it is a little annoying what is really annoying is that the delete key is right under the selection mode so if you select the model and jerk your hand you can accidently delete a model which you cannot undo - I've done this to many times already very annoying - don''t put the delete buton where you can accidently hit it ever you have to export each individual mesh seperatly ?????? please add export all - and for me ( i know you don't have many yet but its kinda chunky trying to get the panels open right now)all tools should be open at same time - no searching for a tool - floating menus- i hate searching for a brush or a tool - it takes u out of thecreative process - everything should be gettable in one click so inever have to think about the software and i stay in the arttilt brush is just so ridiculous to me that you have constantly seach for the brush you want by spinning the controller masterpiece is way better in that respectthe model density is pretty high - not using this in a game engine without serious decimationdefinatly looking forward to more development and using this tool for creationss. I kept wanting to get in for finer details, but couldn't. womp womp.This application runs smoothly, to say the least. Its UX is a little.. jarring to get used to. I can't wait to see what improvements they come up with in that regard.Overall though, I love what's currently in place. Definitely recommended!. I really like a lot of ideas in this software, and the painting is really smooth and marvelous. The creative spirit of the author is present. I think this one is one to watch for the future, but right now it\u2019s just missing too many features to be useful enough at this price.The painting is great, the revolve tool is amazing. Painting is smooth and fluid. But it has no smoothing tool for sculpting, which means you can't put primitives (or other shapes) together and smooth them with each other. It's really difficult to get the same kinds of sculpt quality with only sculpt and carve, even though they do have different smoothness "settings". The "avatar" feature is weird and out of place. Quirky, but I feel it doesn't really add as much as the other "quirky" tools do. On top of this, I saved a model successfully but it won't show up in the program, and it's really easy to accidentally delete your creation, since there's no confirmation dialog for deleting, and it's really easy to hit "delete" while trying to export the model. I couldn't relax and really enjoy sculpting knowing that I could lose everything I was working on so easily.As it is, it\u2019s a really fun toy, but the price is too high for that IMO. Scultrvr is less expensive, does most of what this does (minus the revolve \/ lathe tool, which is really cool), and has enough \u201cbasic\u201d sculpting tools to make it useful for \u201chigh poly\u201d modeling, which can be retopo\u2019d after. Unbound also lacks scaling and moving objects, there isn't much control over level of detail, so if that's important to you, I'd try another tool.I would buy Unbound on sale, or when it has more sculpting features and is more mature interface-wise. I think in the future this will be the one to get, but right now Sculptrvr just makes more sense for me.. I regret buying this.I bought this software thinking it would be a useful professional grade software for sculpting in VR, and I foolishly waited until after the refund period lapsed to actually try it. This software is way overpriced for what it is, a toy. There's a "Tentacle" tool, but no smoothing or stamps or anything you'd expect from actual sculpting software. The interface is a joke, and worst of all the sculpted mesh doesn't update fast enough to match movement of your hands so quick brushes will leave a trail of individual spheres\/cubes. Although the interface is snappy and self explanatory it is equally limited. Honestly, if you want a vr modeling toy just save the money and get google blocks. This software is only useful for drawing purple\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665in vr.Tl;Dr, do not buy this program, it won't do what you want it to do. keeping in mind that this product IS in early access still and things may have changed a lot when you read this. with that out of the way, what do i think of unbound? well... i like it. that being said its rather sparse feature wise as of now but if the developers keep going the way they are and continue supporting the program then i can see it holding its own in the budding VR modeling\/sculpting market.an important thing to note here is that this ISNT a game, its a tool. Tools are meant to do a job and given the neich this fits into it currently dosen't have much contest in my opinion.so, should you get this? to awnser that you need to ask yourself 2 other questions first:1) am i a sculpter? do i enjoy the process of sculpting, frustration and all?2) am i interested in digital are but find working with a 2D screen unintuitive?if your answer is yes to both then this program might work for you. that being said, always do your reaserch first to make sure this program is what you are after..
